Once
upon a time, there were two siblings named Hansel and Gretel. They lived with
their father and stepmother in a small house near a dark forest. One day, their
stepmother decided that they should go into the forest because there was not
enough food for everyone.
Hansel and Gretel were very scared, but Hansel had a
plan. He took some small white stones and dropped them along the path as they
walked. When night fell, the children followed the stones back home. Their
father was happy to see them, but the stepmother was angry and made them go
into the forest again.
This time, Hansel couldn’t collect stones because
their stepmother locked the door. Instead, he dropped pieces of bread along the
way. When night came, they tried to follow the bread crumbs, but the birds had
eaten them all. They were lost!
As
they wandered through the forest, they found a strange house made of candy and
chocolate. Starving and tired, they began to eat the sweet treats. Suddenly, an
old witch appeared. She lured them inside with promises of more food.
Once inside, the witch locked Hansel in a cage and
made Gretel do all the chores. The witch planned to eat Hansel when he was fat
enough. But Gretel was clever. She tricked the witch and made her lean in close
to check the oven. Then, with a quick push, she sent the witch into the oven! Gretel
freed Hansel, and they quickly gathered the witch’s treasure. They followed a
path through the forest until they found their way home. Their father was
overjoyed to see them, but their stepmother was gone. From that day on, the
family had enough food, and they lived happily ever after.
