The Importance of the Three R’s : Reduce, Reuse, Recycle
The NSWMA presents the three R’s :
Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle. These three are the best way to make a positive
impact on our environment. It’s important to put these into practice, as
landfill space is quickly running out, the plastic pollution in our oceans are
increasing, and our environment is deteriorating at a faster pace.
Reuse entails using the same item multiple times rather than discarding it. There are plenty of innovative ways to reuse and repurpose used items. For example, you can use empty glass bottles or plastic containers as flower pots and vases. Recycle is a way of generating new items from old or used materials. There are instances where products like soft drink bottles, broken parts of the cycle, and open soda cans cannot be reused. Instead, these materials can be recycled and sold again.
Use the information from the sources to guide you in
answering the questions in part 1.
