Welcome 👦👧boys and girls. Today we will be engaged in a performance Task Activity. In this activity you will be provided with two sources to do your tasks.

Ready!!👦👧boys and girls. Read the sources carefully before selecting and writing your answers in part 1 and part 2👇

Jamaica Landforms

Mountains are tall, raised areas of land with steep slopes. They attract tourists who enjoy hiking, skiing, and climbing. Additionally, some mountains contain valuable minerals and metals that can be mined. In certain areas, farming also takes place on the lower slopes of mountains.

Plains, on the other hand, are flat or gently rolling areas of land, making them ideal for agriculture. Farmers grow crops like wheat, corn, and rice on these fertile lands. Plains are also suitable for ranching, where cattle and sheep are raised. The flat terrain makes it easier to construct roads and railways, facilitating transportation.

Valleys are low areas situated between mountains or hills, often characterized by rich soil that supports agriculture. They provide excellent conditions for farming, and rivers in valleys offer fishing opportunities. Many people choose to settle in valleys due to the availability of water and fertile land.

Lastly, hills are smaller than mountains and have rounded shapes. They can be used for farming, particularly for growing crops like grapes and olives. Hills also attract tourists looking for scenic views and outdoor activities. Additionally, many hills are covered with forests that provide wood and other resources.
