πππLowest Common Multiples (LCM) and Highest Common Factors (HCF)? πππ
Welcome π¦π§boys and girls to another Mathematics class, today we will be exploring LCM and HCF of two and more numbers.
What are Lowest Common Multiples (LCM) and Highest Common Factors?
What are Lowest Common Multiples (LCM)?π
The Lowest Common Multiples (L.C.M.) defines the least number which is exactly divisible by two or more numbers.
Examples:
1. Find the LCM of 4 and 6.
Multiples of 4 are: {4, 8,12,16, 20, 24…}
Multiples of 6 are: {6,12,18, 24….}
Answer = {12}
What are the Highest Common Factors (HCF)?
The Highest Common Factors H.C.F. defines the greatest factor present in between given two or more numbers.
Examples:
1. What is the HCF of 6 and 12?
Factors of 6 are: {1, 2, 3, 6…}
Factors of 12 are: {1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12….}
Answer = {6}
