๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฆœ๐Ÿฆฉ๐Ÿ“ Common Factors and Common Multiples๐Ÿ“ ๐Ÿฆœ๐Ÿฆฉ๐Ÿ“

 Welcome ๐Ÿ‘ฆ๐Ÿ‘งboys and girls to another Mathematics class, today we will be exploring the topic common factors and Common multiples of numbers.

What are common factors and common multiples?

1. What are Common Factors?

A common factor is a whole number which is a factor of two or more numbers.

A factor is one of two or more numbers that divides into a number without a remainder.

Remember to find the common factors of two or more numbers. we have to first find the factors of the numbers.

A common factor- of two numbers are the factors shared or joint between two or more numbers

๐ŸญExamples:

What are the common factors of 6 and 12?

6={1, 2, 3, 6}

12= {1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 12}

Answer= the common factor of 6 and 8 are {1, 2, 3}

2. What are Common Multiples?

A common multiple is defined as a whole number, a shared multiple of each set of numbers.

A multiple- is a product that we get when one number is multiplied by another number.

A common multiple- of two numbers are the multiples shared or joint between two or more numbers

๐Ÿฆ‹Example:

What are the multiples of 2 and 3?

4= { 4, 8, 12, 16, 20.....}

5={ 5, 10, 15, 20, 25....}

Answer= the multiples of 4 and 5 is {20}
